10 Craft Ideas To Do With Dora the Explorer Coloring Pages
Dora the Explorer is that loveable globetrotter that children everywhere want to be like.
Here are 10 inexpensive, fun, and creative craft ideas you can do with your completed coloring page!
1. Dora the Explorer Spy Glasses
Any child will enjoy making Dora the Explorer spy glasses! All the child needs is two empty paper towel rolls trimmed to the desired size.
The finished coloring pages can be used to laminate the rolls, after which they can be glued together side by side.
A long piece of yarn in the child’s favorite color can then be used to create a lanyard to wear the spy glasses around his or her neck!
2. Create a 3D Birthday Sign
For this fun craft, the child should color and cut out Dora and glue the cutout to a piece of poster board, using a layer of cotton balls in between for a perfect 3D effect.
Next, the youngster should use puffy paint to draw the number of his or her birthday next to Dora’s hand, as if she is holding up the letter.
The entire ensemble can be placed in an open frame for a terrific birthday sign.
3. Design a Dora Kite
To make this fun craft kite, begin by giving each child two plain pieces of construction paper.
Each child can trace the kite shape they prefer on each page, identify, cut them out, and glue them together, allowing the small space between them to remain hollow.
When the Dora the Explorer coloring page is finished, the characters can be cut out and affixed to either side of the kite, with a string attached to one end.
The hollow middle will make Dora fly on any windy day.
4. Make an Adorable Welcome Sign
For this cute craft, have the youngsters color planet Earth on a plain white piece of paper.
Once they have colored and cut out the Dora character, she should be glued to the center of the earth.
Underneath, the kids can draw a big smile, with the words “Welcome” spelled out in a little cartoon bubble.
The entire ensemble can be laminated and hung on a door as a friendly welcome sign.
5. Send Dora Around the World
For this great classroom activity, use a giant map of the world and have each student color and cut out a Dora the Explorer character.
Give the children index cards on which to write a fact about the country of their choice.
Then, the students should all glue or tape their Dora cutouts to that specific country on the map for a unique and interesting classroom poster.
6. Paper Doll Dress Up
Any child who likes paper dolls will love this craft. Begin with one coloring page that will be the main “doll.” Once the page is finished, Dora should be cut out and set aside.
Then, let the children color additional pages for outfits.
These can be cut from the pages, leaving small tabs here and there that can be folded around the original Dora cutout.
The youngsters can continue making outfits as long as they find the craft interesting, and they can be saved for future playtime!
7. Dora the Explorer Decals
Children love stickers and decals with which to decorate notebooks, knapsacks, or locker doors.
Stickers are easy to make, and the Dora coloring pages and contact paper are all you need for this fun craft.
Once Dora is colored and cut out, she can be laminated with contact paper, or small squares of adhesive paper can be used instead.
The finished stickers can then be used on virtually any surface that can’t be damaged by adhesive.
8. Make an Adorable 3D Dora
This craft is surprisingly easy to make and requires two small craft boxes, one a little larger than the other, and four empty bathroom tissue boxes.
Use the largest box for Dora’s head, and laminate it with that part of the finished coloring page. Repeat this with the second largest box as her body.
The four empty cardboard rolls become arms and legs, and craft eyes, puffy paint, felt, and other items can be used for her face and hair.
Now, you have an adorable 3D Dora that stands on her own.
9. Fun With Initials
All youngsters love this craft, and it begins with cutting out three heart shapes from plain paper.
The child should then color and cut out three different Dora characters and glue one to each heart. The ensemble should then be attached to a piece of colorful poster board.
Underneath the hearts, a bright marker can be used for the child to write his or her three initials, one under each heart, for a cute and crafty door sign.
10.Design a Dora Cuff Bracelet
A Dora the Explorer cuff bracelet is easy to make and will last a long time.
Cut two to three inches from the end of an empty wrapping paper cardboard, and cut it straight across to make a “cuff” bracelet.
When Dora is colored, she should be carefully cut out and glued across the cardboard, with her face in the center.
One thin coat of acrylic spray should be added, and you will have an adorable bracelet.
