Is Rogers's new Ignite Modem better than white Coda modem?

Currently i have old CODA white model as 1 GB package for $52 pm and 1 year coming to an end in a month or 2.
Received a promotion from them $64 for Ignite Internet 1 GB + 'SmartStream' for an year.
If I don't switch, most likely they increase my charges on my existing plan so thinking if I should accept that new promotion.
Any idea if so-called Ignite Internet will be better than this coda white one or no difference at all.

thanks in advance

I switched from the Coda to the new Ignite and WiFi was certainly better on the new modem.

In bridge mode, I did not notice any different between the 2.

Thanks for your feedback.
I am anyways using Eero Pro Mesh for WIFI so i presume i will get better wifi capabilities from this Ignite Modem.

I switched recently and noticed that the built in WiFi was far superior to the older one. I too use an Eero system though so once it went into bridge mode there was no difference.

I have the XB7 modem and put it in bridge mode as soon as it was installed. As a modem, it has been absolutely rock solid.

Don't get the new Ignite modem if you have a lot of smart devices that connect to the 2.4Ghz band. I've been having a lot of issues with my Kasa smart plugs which would randomly become unresponsive. This is even after I separated the 5Ghz and 2.4Ghz bands into their own networks rather than the default unified band steering one.

bridged and noticed zero differences.

It is way brighter LEDs with the white one. Annoying.

I have used the CODA, the Ignite XB6, and the newer XB7. I find they are all the same but would suggest going with the XB7 as it is as quiet as the CODA and has no fan noise. I also found that it seems to have better wifi than the XB6 or the updated firmware for the XB7 is better.

Using the XB7 for modem and router (due to cheapness and laziness) on a 25Mbps connection, zero issues.

The fan is very quiet, can't hear it but I can feel some air flow if I put my hand on the top of the modem (that or there is some convection happening from hot air rising and cool air pulled from below). I have noticed if I max out my connection or under heavy load I can hear some faint coil whine (really faint, you need to be right next to it) and the unit will heat up, not an issue for me as mine is in the basem*nt.

Yes, there is one bright white LED recessed along the top facing upward. It actually makes enough ambient light to work as a low nightlight.

I would have liked some more status/activity indicators on the front instead of one light staying on to say "Everything is working", just because I am used to every other router/modem having some LED indicators of what is happening. Instead, you get one LED that glows orange/flashing green/solid white to let you knw what's going on with sync/status.

i placed the white modem sideways, on the side where the led display is. Thta minimizes the light polluting my room from the modem. Doesnt cover any vent holes and doesnt make the modem hot.

What did you end up doing? I’m having issues with 2.4ghz signal dropping but 5g fine on my white hitron modem. I have smart home devices that can only use 2.4 band

i find the XB7 had better wifi range then the Coda, i don't have mesh system so its my everyday router. For the Coda, version 2 is better then version 1, as version 1 had stability issues (my experience with both Fido and Rogers). I never really had any connection problems with my 2.4 devices (cameras etc) connecting to Coda or XB7

I ended up with new Ignite/White of course with strong Mesh system. So far so good.

i was in same situation before. Had old/coda modem & then asked them to replace by Ignite one and somehow honored it.
I think coda modem is also not bad.
Mesh & Routers are 2 different leagues and you go for Mesh for broader coverage, more devices. I went with Eero Pro 6 Mesh & absolutely happy with it.
