Florida State eliminated North Carolina from the Men's College World Series, 9-5. The Seminoles move on to face Tennessee — and will have to beat the Volunteers twice.
Florida State took an early 3-0 lead in the third inning and never looked back. From the third inning on, the Seminoles never led by fewer than two runs.

Two home runs from Jaxson West and Max Williams on the first two at-bats of the 9th inning gave Florida State insurance and a four-run lead facing elimination. The Seminoles are three outs away from a win.

Florida State and UNC each scored four runs in the 5th inning, albeit in different styles. Here's how it happened.
In the top of the 5th, Florida State went through nine batters as five hitters hit singles to advance runners.

In the bottom of the 5th, North Carolina's Vance Honeycutt hit a 3-RBI home run with one out. Honeycutt became responsible for 40 percent of all Tar Heel NCAA tournament runs with that dinger. Later in the inning,Van De Brake hit a base hit down the middle to bring another run home and take the deficit down to two runs.

⛈️ Game 10 postponement
Game 10 of the 2024 NCAA Men’s College World Series has been postponed due to impending inclement weather.
Game 10, an elimination game between Kentucky and Florida, is now scheduled to be played at 10 a.m. Central time on Wednesday, June 19. Game 11 will now start at 2 p.m. Central time on Wednesday with Game 12 starting at 6 p.m. Central time.

Two walks and a hit by pitch loaded the bases for Florida State asJaime Ferrer came up to bat. Ferrer was walked, too, giving the Seminoles a 2-0 lead. The bases remained loaded as Daniel Cantu came up to bat with one out, hitting a sac fly to bring James Tibbs III home for the 3-0 lead.

In North Carolina's ensuing half inning, the Tar Heels hit back-to-back two-out doubles. Vance Honeycutt landed his hit first before Casey Cook brought him home for UNC's first run of the game.

🍿 Day 5 | It's elimination day at the MCWS
The Men's College World Series field is down to six teams, and after today, only four will remain. With Texas A&M and Tennessee taking the day off — they await their opponents in the semifinals — Tuesday will feature a pair of battles between conference foes. First, Florida State and North Carolina will face off to determine which ACC team will be the last one standing. Then, Florida will look to end Kentucky's first MCWS trip ever.

🤯 Texas A&M downs Kentucky to advance to MCWS semis
It only comes down to one more win for Texas A&M to make program history as the Aggies defeated Kentucky 5-1 in Game 8of the Men's College World Series to advance to the semifinals.The Aggies cruised past the Wildcats in the top of the sixth inning when they broke the scoreless tie with a 5-run inning. In addition to timely hitting, Texas A&M starter Ryan Prager pitched a gem allowing no runs in 6.2 innings of work. Prager carried a no-hitter into the seventh inning when Kentucky's Ryan Nicholson singled into right field to break up the no-hit bid.

The Aggies advance to the semifinals with an opportunity to secure a spot in the finals for the first time in Texas A&M history. Kentucky's journey continues as they will face Florida at 7 p.m. ET on Tuesday.

💪 Kentucky breaks no-hitter
Texas A&M pitched six hitless innings before Ryan Nicholson and Nolan McCarthy got their bats on two of Ryan Prager's pitches in the seventh, batting a single and double, respectively. A call to the bullpen stifled Kentucky's scoring opportunity, with Josh Stewart throwing a strikeout to close out the seventh inning.

The Aggies hit their stride and loaded five runs on the scoreboard in the sixth inning.
With no outs, Texas A&M got two runners in scoring position, then a Hayden Schott single scored Jackson Appel and Jace LaViolette for the first runs of the evening. A walk, a strikeout, and a Kentucky pitching change later, Ali Camarillo slammed an RBI double to deep right field, then Kaeden Kent hit a 2-RBI single. Two Ks ended the inning for Texas A&M, as the Aggies hold a 5-0 advantage.

🥊 Florida knocks out NC State
The Gators notch a 5-4 win over NC State on Monday afternoon to stay alive in Omaha. Florida's outing was highlighted by Jac Caglianone's 3-run home run in the second inning. Cags was intentionally walked in his two-at bats following the homer. Reliever Brandon Neely earned the win on the bump, pitching three innings, striking out six, and only allowing one walk and one hit.
